Work as a Project Staff Member & Temporary Employment
How does temporary staffing work?
There are three parties involved in temporary staffing: you as the employee, RS for business / Uniprise as your employer (the staffing agency), and the client company as the host company (the hirer).
You sign your employment contract with RS for business / Uniprise. That is also where you receive your salary. You are then assigned to a client company for a specific period, which organizes your daily work on-site and assigns you professional tasks. This means:
RS for business / Uniprise remains your official employer,
the client company manages your daily assignments,
and compensation, vacation, continued pay, etc., continue to be handled by RS for business / Uniprise.
Assignments can vary in length depending on the project and needs, and offer you the opportunity to get to know different companies and areas of work.
Who am I employed by?
Your employment contract will be with RS for business GmbH, the company behind the Uniprise brand. RS for business is your legal employer and is responsible for drafting your contract, processing your pay, and handling all matters related to employment law.
The client company where you work is your host company—not your employer.
Which company will I be assigned to?
You will be notified of the specific client company before your assignment begins. Uniprise matches you with an assignment based on your profile, qualifications, and the availability of suitable companies.
You will receive all relevant information (location, industry, duties) along with your assignment documents well in advance of the start date.
What kind of tasks can I expect at the host company?
Your specific duties will depend on the host company and the industry. Typically, these involve hands-on work in warehousing and logistics, manufacturing, the hotel industry, or the restaurant industry—often physical work done as part of a team, in a structured and well-organized environment.
You’ll find a detailed job description in your employment contract and the assignment information.
How long does an assignment through Uniprise last?
Assignments through Uniprise are typically scheduled to last up to 90 days—long enough to create real value and easy to plan for both parties.
The exact duration of the assignment is specified in your employment contract and the assignment documents.
Why are assignments often limited to 90 days?
Specific legal requirements apply to international students regarding residency rights, work permits, and student status. Assignments of up to 90 days generally allow you to comply with these requirements in a legally compliant manner.
Uniprise actively supports you in clarifying all necessary approvals and formalities.
NOTE: For details regarding your specific situation, please contact your Uniprise representative directly.
What happens on your first day at work?
On your first day of work, you will typically be introduced to the company by a supervisor. You will receive a tour of your work area, meet your colleagues, and be briefed on safety procedures.
Who gives me instructions while I'm working?
For operational questions directly related to your workplace—such as shifts, tasks, and procedures—the supervisors and shift leaders at the host company are responsible.
For all other matters—such as your contract, pay, personal situation, or everyday challenges—your Uniprise advisor is your point of contact. This clear division of responsibilities ensures that you always know who to turn to.
What should I do if I'm sick or can't come to work?
If you are sick or unable to come to work, you must notify both your Uniprise supervisor and the host company as soon as possible—at the latest, before the start of your shift.
In the event of illness, a doctor’s note is generally required.
NOTE: Details regarding continued pay in the event of illness are outlined in your employment contract and the applicable legal regulations.
Will I be provided with work clothes or safety equipment?
Of course, whenever required for a particular assignment, you will be provided with the necessary work clothing and safety equipment. Depending on the job, this may include, for example, safety shoes, protective clothing, a helmet, gloves, or other personal protective equipment.
The specific equipment required and who provides it depends on the client company and the work area. In many cases, the client company issues the equipment directly on-site.
Your Uniprise advisor will, of course, inform you before your first day of work about what equipment will be provided and what, if anything, you should bring yourself.
What happens when an operation ends?
If your assignment ends as scheduled, Uniprise will notify you in advance about the details—including your departure, final paycheck, etc.
If you are interested in another assignment, please discuss this with your supervisor as soon as possible.
Is there support available for language, integration, and communication?
Yes. Uniprise understands that starting out in a foreign country can raise questions. That’s why personalized support and communication assistance are integral parts of the Uniprise program.
Your advisor is there to assist you with any language or cultural questions and help make your transition as smooth as possible.

NOTE: Please refer to your employment contract and assignment documents for the exact payment date.
How is my hourly wage determined?

NOTE: The specific amount of your wage is listed in your employment contract or in your assignment documents.
Are there any premium pay rates for night work, work on Sundays, or work on holidays?
Any additional pay is determined by applicable legal, collective bargaining, or contractual provisions.
NOTE: Details regarding additional pay can be found in your employment contract, the assignment information, and the applicable regulations.
How are my working hours tracked?
Work hours are typically tracked using the host company’s system (e.g., time card, digital system) and/or via a timesheet that you fill out and submit.
You will learn which method is used for your assignment during the orientation meeting on your first day of work.
What is important when it comes to timesheets or time tracking?
Please keep your timesheet accurate, complete, and updated daily. Be sure to record your working hours, breaks, and any overtime correctly. Incorrect or missing timesheets can delay payroll processing.
NOTE: Accurate and timely submission of timesheets is essential for smooth payroll processing.
Am I entitled to vacation time?
Yes, even as a project team member, you are generally entitled to paid vacation time. The exact number of vacation days depends on legal requirements, your employment contract, and the duration of your assignment.
NOTE: Be sure to discuss your vacation requests with your Uniprise supervisor well in advance.
What happens if I get sick?
If you are sick, please notify your Uniprise supervisor and the host company immediately—at the latest, before your shift begins. A doctor’s note is generally required.
NOTE: Whether you receive continued pay and the amount of that pay depend on the applicable laws and your employment contract.
Where can I find my pay stub?
Your pay stub will be sent to you in accordance with the agreed-upon terms. We will email you your login credentials.
Please keep your pay stubs in a safe place.
Can I get help with my bank account, IBAN, or withdrawals?
To receive your paycheck, you’ll need a bank account with a valid IBAN. If you need help with this, please contact your Uniprise advisor.
Uniprise will help you provide all the necessary information in time for your first paycheck.
Is there housing available, or assistance with finding housing?
Uniprise actively assists project staff in arranging housing at the assignment location. Whether housing is provided, and in what form, depends on the specific assignment.
You will be informed in advance of all details regarding housing and any associated costs.
What are the rules regarding punctuality, conduct, and communication?
Punctuality, reliability, and treating colleagues and supervisors with respect are essential prerequisites for a successful assignment.
If any problems or misunderstandings arise, please speak openly and promptly with your Uniprise supervisor. Open communication is the quickest way to find solutions.
Who should I contact if I have questions about billing?
If you have any questions about payroll, paychecks, or anything on your pay stub, your Uniprise advisor is your first point of contact. If necessary, they will forward your inquiry to the payroll department at RS for business.
NOTE: Please submit any payroll-related questions as soon as possible so they can be resolved quickly and smoothly.
